LVMH awards Innovation Award to the start-up Save Your Wardrobe
LVMH, the French luxury conglomerate, has awarded its Innovation Award to Save Your Wardrobe, a start-up that helps people rent and sell their clothes. Save Your Wardrobe’s platform allows users to rent or sell their clothes to other users, or to donate them to charity. The award comes with a €100,000 prize, which Saves Your Wardrobe will use to further develop its platform.
What is Save Your Wardrobe?
Save Your Wardrobe is a London-based start-up founded in 2017 by Hasna Kourda and Mehdi Doghri. The idea behind Save Your Wardrobe is to help people make the most of their existing wardrobe, by providing them with a digital platform for care and repair, as well as digital wardrobe management. Its services increase the lifespan of customers’ garments, reduce waste and promote circular fashion.
Save Your Wardrobe uses artificial intelligence to scan users’ receipts and online purchases, and create a digital inventory of their clothes. Users can then access various services through the platform, such as dry cleaning, alterations, repairs, upcycling, styling, and personal shopping. Users can also rent or sell their clothes to other members of the community, or donate them to charity partners.
Why did LVMH choose to Save Your Wardrobe?
Save Your Wardrobe was one of the 18 finalists of the LVMH Innovation Award 2023, which received more than 1,300 applications from 75 countries. The finalists were divided into six categories: Employee Experience, Diversity & Inclusion, Image & Media for Brand Desirability, Immersive Digital Experiences, Omnichannel & Retail, Operations Excellence, and Sustainability & Greentech.
Save Your Wardrobe won the Grand Prize of the LVMH Innovation Award, as well as the Omnichannel & Retail category. The award was presented by Bernard Arnault, Chairman and CEO of LVMH, during a ceremony at Viva Technology, Europe’s largest gathering of start-ups and innovation leaders.
According to LVMH, Save Your Wardrobe perfectly illustrates its ambition in creative circularity, a pillar of its environmental roadmap, LIFE 360. LVMH believes that Save Your Wardrobe’s solution will very quickly resonate with the aspirations of its Maisons and the expectations of its customers.
Save Your Wardrobe’s founder and CEO Hasna Kourda said that winning the LVMH Innovation Award was a testament to the unique value that Save Your Wardrobe brings to the fashion and luxury world. She added that this was a monumental milestone in their journey; one that will fuel their determination to keep pushing the boundaries of the luxury experience while preserving and extending LVMH’s Maison’s legacy.
